Colour Love

What it was

Colour Love was a playful home for colour, and it had two lives. It began as an adoption service. You browsed thousands of named shades, found one that spoke to you, and claimed it as your own, tied to your name and no one else’s. After more than ten thousand colours had been adopted, it grew a second life as a colour personality test.

How it worked

The test asks forty-two questions, because that is the answer to everything. Each is a forced choice weighed against four hidden axes, and they resolve to one of sixteen personas. Every persona name means two things at once: a kind of person, and a colour. Sage is the wise one and a sage green. Ember is the slow burn and a glowing coal. Slate is the clean slate and a grey-blue. The shade you land on is blended from how you answered and the exact moment you took the test, so it belongs to that minute and no other.

Whom it was for

Anyone who has ever had a favourite colour and wished they could make it official, or who likes being read a little. It was built to be interesting rather than clinical: a mirror, not a diagnosis.

Tech

Built with Astro. The test is a pure function of the answers, so it runs entirely in the browser with no backend and nothing stored. Now a static archive hosted under ozgur.ca, with the personality test still playable inside it.
