Land Acknowledgement

On the land this site is made from

This site is made on the island known as Tiohtiá:ke (Montreal), part of the traditional and unceded territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Nation, a place of gathering and exchange for many First Nations long before borders were drawn.

The Kanien’kehá:ka are the keepers of the Eastern Door of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. This land has also been a site of diplomacy and trade for the Anishinaabe and other nations for centuries.

Acknowledging this isn’t a formality. It’s a reminder that the ground beneath every pixel was here first, and that the people who have cared for it still do.
