Scranton DVD
Scranton DVD is a macOS screensaver that recreates the bouncing DVD logo from the cold open of The Office. The logo drifts across the screen, changing colour on each bounce, occasionally hitting the corner.
What problem does it solve?
There was no good way to relive the cold open from The Office where the entire office watches the DVD logo bounce, waiting for it to hit the corner. Now there is.
How it works
Install the screensaver, and the DVD logo drifts across the screen at a steady pace. It changes colour every time it bounces off an edge. The trajectory is calculated so that it will eventually, inevitably, hit the corner. Whether you’re patient enough to wait is up to you.
Whom it’s for
Fans of The Office, people who miss screensavers, and anyone who finds a slow-moving logo unexpectedly meditative.
